When a road was put in a few years ago that went past my woods, the soil was disturbed and seeds/spores that were dormant started growing. I now have several of thee ferns that will, given lots of time, become trees.

I can remember being in a fern forest in New Zealand many years ago, and it is fantastic.

I hate when my tree ferns grow like weeds!
