The spines are like paper. Hence the name 'papyracanthus' :o) It would not harm anyone ...

like how names define....i would have thought it very shape as it gives that appearance...but i also thought that the spiky bits looked a bit like the ends of feathers...very strange but very interesting plant... i liked...

The ends of the spiky bits are a bit pointy - like little pins, but you can crumple them like paper :o) I'm pleased you like it.
