Black Scallop Ajuga Reptans Bugleweed Plant

This fast-spreading evergreen ground cover has deep purple, almost black, glossy leaves that look great in winter. It will choke out weeds to form a dense mat. Sends up royal blue flower spikes in spring.

I have one like this too brilliant plant, the bees love it, did have one with a variegated leaf but that didn't survive here don't know why.

I have this too,Paul..it fills the small gap between paving,and a circular stone area..ideal..

I love this. I planted some on Beryl's mother's grave, and now it has spread all over the ground and on to the other graves near by lol
She doesn't mind, because she likes it also :o)

Isn't the color amazing? It contrasts very well with the bright greens and is totally carefree.

Reliable and low maintenance:) I also like Ajuga 'Burgundy Glow'.
