I can't believe that's in flower like that right now! I've never seen such a beautiful Clem. Cirrhosis...wow! Lucky you! Stunning! :D

me too - lovely:) o! I know - will treat myself for Christmas, lol.

I can't use that excuse as I've already bought another book on gardening!

10 Dec, 2013

Why would you need an excuse to buy one of those?! Lol!

10 Dec, 2013

Because I don't have anymore space in my garden Karen, lol. Pots are ok - need nice ones, but plants? hmmm - where would I put one more, lol. But there are few plants I really lovet (that's one of them) - that's where the excuse comes handy, lol

Aha...well, perhaps you could grow it in a very large pot?! Isn't it gorgeous? Sadly, these don't do well up here, so I have no need for any excuses. I am planning to add some clems. To my garden, but they will probably all be the short growing ones...and of course Niobe, I will have to have a Niobe. :)

That's a 'must', Karen. :-)

I did wonder where in the UK C. cirrhosa was too tender - all the books say it isn't completely hardy in 'some areas'. I love my cirrhosas, and Lansdowne Gem is by far my favourite. :-D)

Hmm...I'm sure it would survive here, but it wouldn't flower. I've had them before and that's what happened to them.

Yep, worked out where to put it in my garden. Now I've just got to track one down. Where did you get yours spritz?

11 Dec, 2013

Yay! Taylor's clems are good Andrew.

11 Dec, 2013

Wow that is beautiful, we have not got any winter flowering clematis..... something I must look in to!!

11 Dec, 2013

It was a local nursery, Andrew - so not much help, sorry. I'd agree with Karen - try Taylor's. I've just checked and they do stock it.

Mine flowered for one year Karen, then gave up the ghost altogether....:((. Wisley cream is more hardy and looks like a snow shower during the darkest days......lovely!

Yours is a great specimen though Spritz!

Thanks, Janey - my three C. cirrhosas are all very happy in Somerset! :-))))) I agree about the 'look' of Wisley Cream, which is mingling with Solanum laxum on the back harden trellis at the moment - both with prolific flowers. Lovely. :-D)
