Little Treasure From On High. Physcia aipiola

Recent high winds brought this slender branch down to the ground and into sight with this interesting cluster of Lichen wrapped closely around it. These symbiotic plant/fungus associations can be found not only in relatively mild places such as tree tops etc in temperate climates but often in extreme conditions from high mountains to salty, coastal rocks and hot, dry deserts.
