I didnt get them planted out until late august and I was just using the foliage to fill a gap so I was pleased they have flowered albeit 'out of season'.

I seem to recall when collecting seed off them, they have a prickly part somewhere!

yes the green cowl has spines. you an see them in the photo. look nice dried too.
