Some of the flowers which I picked while they were still in the bud stage. I kept them in a vase of water until they all opened then I let it dry up and the flowers dried off and lasted for several years till I got bored with them and donated them to a charity shop.

It will not be long before you can harvest a bouquet from your own plant Marybells.

Knowing my luck, I'd dunt them and they'd crumble all over the carpet. ;-)

They make a lovely arrangement and non of the hassle that goes into houseplants ;)

Mouldy they really do seem to stay all of a piece. The vivid colour did not fade either. This was the first arrangement i altered them later, I cut them down and put them in a basket arrangement with some dried lavendar.

+I meant dried sprigs of lavendar Mouldy. You can pick and dry whole stems which do keep for maybe 3 years. My daughter was bothered by flies in her kitchen and I read an article which said lavendar was a deterrant. I filled a straight sided basket with lavendar. I kept poking it in till It was full and that did seem to work.

My mum and sisters always put lavender in their 'smalls' drawers or made satchets for under their pillows.
I'd heard it was an effective fly deterent, so you've verified what I wanted to know. Lol.
Thanks, Scotsgran.

You are welcome. I'm equally pleased to know someone else has heard of it as a fly deterrent.
