Karen think they will sit on the eggs ok but then when they hatch they are not so good at rearing the young birds, they tend to trail them all over and wander off and leave them. The other thing is that the fox will find them once they are sat on the nest unless they sit up high which is not very likely. Normally they roost up high but once they are sitting obviously the fox will sniff them out.
She could buy a little incubator and rear them herself under a heat lamp that would be interesting for her. The school children have eggs off us and hatch their own. They love it.

Pretty! mum...re guinea fowl....my friend Janet has some and they are free range in her woodland. Is it likely they will rear young on their own? I couldn't see why not. She would like some babies but has no idea where they are nesting at the moment. You should see the chicken house she got today...it's a topper! all the way from Shropshire!
