Awww! I'm not sure, no more than 5yrs though, it is the best its ever been too, its about 6ft high now & about 4ft across, they grow to 3mtrs high so its a nice small tree.
I looked on this Web Site about it

Errr ...it's not a japonica, Jackie, your title is right. The Nursery is either wrong, or describing a different Sophora. Ours are definitely S. microphylla. Mine is still small - I think this is its second or third year...

Well, maybe, but I think they're very different. I must look at the other one...not that I have space anywhere! lol. When I went to see mine yesterday, it had survived a badger attack - the ground near it was all churned up. :-O I'd hate to lose it.

Good that it survived the Badger attack.

Definitely! OH has put the electric fence back, on batteries for the moment, and that's keeping Mr or Mrs Brock out, thank goodness.

Not nice ones I could post on here, though. :-Z
I'll have to be careful weeding in that area - I don't want 'the buzz', thanks!

We used to have a little gizmo to test if an electric fence was 'live' or not, but it's vanished. :-((
