Forsythia

A beautiful Forsythia with a good shape! Mine has been and gone now... Didn't have much of a display as OH hacked it back! It's too close to the path around the house...

This bush is over 50 years old, but I hacked it back to the stumps about two years ago. Then I just let it grow naturally without touching it again. Thanks for you comments, glad you like it.

Yes, it blooms on last year's growth

The key is to not trim it after July 4th or you'll be cutting off next year's blooms.

That's a good way for you to remember isn't it?! I looked out ours today... It is at least a good shape - Top marks to Hubby for that! :D
