I posted a photo of this clematis a few days ago - here's a close-up of the flowers. It puts on this spectacular show every year.

Great picture Andrew; yesterday at our local Garden Centre, I saw a clematis very much like Moonbeam, it was growing on a row of trellis and was breath-taking being grown like this. It was C. x cartmanii hort Avalanche, very likely a seedling from the same breeding programme as Moonbeam. I wanted to buy one, but of course, sold out!

David - I believe 'Joe', 'Moonbeam' and 'Avalanche' are all from the same cross, but make different size plants at maturity.
