my local free newspaper is very handy, being almost exactly the right size to fit the greenhouse shelves! Seeing how they'll work as "gravel trays" - will hold some water and spread it around. And, when too tatty to use for this, the composter will eat it.

I've now got a large thermometer out there - just need to remember to check and log the readings.
Direct sun gets to the greenhouse frrom about noon onwards, so it'd be warm in there anyway - but dry heat, as opposed to moist, wonder if dry heat would be better for the plants?

gmta indeed, HB, except that I hadn't thought of the plastic bag! lol if any water drips through, the plants underneath will get extra drinks.
I had tried plastic trays, and long windowsill trough trays, but they were never the right size for the shelves or the pots; had to keep moving pots to get a fit, and so much shelf space wasted.
I've also got a planter on the ground at the back with water, to increase humidity - couple of times when I've unzipped the door and lifted it, the steam has misted my specs! I havve to remember to tap the roof every now and then, in various places; the moisture collects amazingly, it's like a mini-reainstorm.
