Daylily cross - Star of India x Mort Morss

The most unusual of all the daylilies is the 2 petal/2 sepal one-offs. There isn't even a name for them (if you think of polys, there has to be a minimum of 4). I found this one in the afternoon, too late to use for crosses, so I saved the pollen overnight and have been spreading it around today, hoping something will take. Even if the form isn't passed on, there is always the applique throat.

I have only had one other like it, a couple of years ago. I made some crosses, and I hope they take and pass on the trait. That's how the poly types happened - someone was able to breed them from the odd flower.
