I really like this small Daphne because the flower color is so much deeper than a lot of other Daphnes. Most are light pink or white but none of them are this close to purple. The fragrance on this one is very strong for a smaller Daphne.

Last year it looked pretty bad in the Spring so I cut it back pretty hard and it shaped up nice. It seems like they are blooming earlier this year, 'Silveredge' started flowering today and 'Rosy Wave', 'Wilhelm Schacht' and 'Carol Mackie' should flower any day now.

It's amazing how powerful the scent is, it's only a few inches tall and less than a foot wide but I can smell it from a ways off. It's a lot stronger fragrance than Meon or Stasek and probably just as strong as the burkwood Daphnes.
