Hollyhock

First and last time I'll grow hollyhock. Started them from seed last year, and babied them. This year they've been super infested with everything imaginable, and though I bought mixed colour seeds for double blooms, all but one (from what I can tell) are white.
I think someone here commented how they look like used tissues.. yes, the white ones sure do :(

What a sad story Rosalieg :( Im growing Hollyhocks 4 1st time in my new greenhouse& iv also choosen the Double &Coloured Mix! So far iv potted on12 seedlings & more r growing in the seedtray,Iv 6 already growing in my garden which "Touch Wood" r doin ok :)

I've seen them in other people's gardens, and they always looked great. But, I think I didn't look closeley so didn't notice the insects and spots.
The blooms themselves are pretty nice.. very full even though weevil-looking things had been eating them for weeks.

Yes, I've had mine for a while & they always look sickly, but the blooms are so pretty......

I know what you mean. I love them as a plant, but always get serious and disfiguring attacks of rust on the leaves.
