We call it Gorse Katarina. It's posh name is Ulex europaeus. It has a coconut scent.

Cottagecare@Thank you for identification, I couldn t find it in my books. And Latin name is not a posh name. All plants should be named by their Latin names, said our Scottish guide :-)

At least if we use the Latin names, we all know what we're talking about. I rather like a lot of the vernacular names, though. I certainly only know this as "gorse"! I love to see it, and Broom as well (cytisus or genista)

Oh, it's everywhere in Scotland Katarina. In May the roads are all hedged with it, and we hardly notice it, there is so much!

There's quite a lot of gorse in England, as well! I certainly saw it in the south. A blooming great shrub, I'd have said!!!
