So pleased the torrential rain storms we had yesterday did not wash the flowers on this clematis away.

These used to have roses over them but they were too prickly so had to go, the men folk kept moaning. lol. At the top of the path is a gate with arches and over the top of that is a Wisteria growing, it has grown up and into the hedgerow. In flower at the minute and the perfume is amazing. Never has a lot of flowers because it needs to be trimmed but is too high for me to get at. The lower branches are starting to clamber and twist through the Christmas trees and flowering lower down though now. Hopefully in a couple of years it will be covered with blossoms down there.

I just love flower tunnels. There is a fabulous Laburnum walk near Kirriemuir, and I love Wisteria ones too. :)) They are so romantic and they have such a lovely feeling of 'sanctuary'.
