The cambessedesii will be no problem as they can be kept in pots. The rock would probably be best in the ground but I wouldnt have the room here.Would they flower kept in pots?

Phil
I would think possible but the person to ask is Scottish
She lives near to Binny plant nursery and could I am sure tell us if they grow them to flowering size.
I will prompt her.

Pcw - re Brian's pm - I popped along to Binny's to ask about your seedling being brought to flowering size in pots.
Billy was still away @ Chelsea but spoke with Rona his sidekick. She said it's perfectly possible to bring tree paeonies on to flower in pots. It will be getting the balance right with watering. They will neither appreciate under or over watering. Which would be an issue for a beginner gardener she said but I told her you weren't, so, she couldn't think of anything else that might cause problems.
If you've any other questions, it's not a problem to pop in. I pass everyday taking my brother's kids home from school.
I'm always keen to have an excuse, any excuse really, to pop in ;)

Scottish-thanks for that.Overwatering won't be a problem,I think making sure they are potted on regularly to keep them growing will be what I have to remember.Sometimes things can be forgotten.
Hopefully in a few years there will be 3 nice plants to show off.

You're welcome :) I'll check on the popping on next time I'm along and get back to you.

Thank you for the advice Scottish and thank you Brian/Bjs for my seedling. It has grown another leaf since arriving north of the border. Billy had one seedling in a pot when our gardening club made an evening visit to the nursery. I spotted it and eventually bought it. He did caution that it would be several years before it reached flowering size.

That's a really good percentage and all looking first class. Have you the room to grow them on to flowering .
Cambessedesii seems only to vary in shade where as the Rock is not staying true all lovey but all four in my garden are different.
