Thanks Annie, I have no idea what it is called, it flowers first every year, one that Karen bought for me years and years ago, this year I have had to prop it up and it is growing over into the aviary. lol. I shall have to get the step ladders out though because it is climbing up through the guttering and we all know what that will do. lol.

Lovely!
My Cecile Brunner is out, but the others will be a while yet.

Thanks Melchi, not one I know Cecile Brunner will have a look in a mo. Some of the other roses are beginning to show promise now. :O)

Mine is a very old climber, but it performs more like a rambler. It is indestructible, and last year for the first time in nearly 40 years, it produced a second flush. So I'm hoping that if I shear off the old blooms quickly enough, it'll do the same this year.

Sorry, I haven't a clue! But isn't it lovely!

Its absolutely stunning, thanks everyone for looking in, I never believed this would look like it does, just what I was hoping for. I must be doing something right at last after years of getting it wrong, I suppose it is called experience. :O) or is it LUCK lol :O)

Its gorgeous Barbara ! Its not a climbing Iceburg , is it ?

Not that I can think, it starts off very Pale Pink and then goes whiter, still keeps a sort of pink tinge to it. I love it now it has got going and climbing over to the little aviary. :O)

My shrub Iceburg starts like this too ! I didn't know you had an aviary ! What birds do you have in it ? Rick had one years ago with canaries and zebra finches. Now we have holidays, its difficult to leave them, which is a shame as he used to love them !

canaries and cockatiel, they are enough for me to look after. Had the cockatiels since the girls were small. one of them is very very very old, bit like me I suppose. lol :O)

I wonder if it could be Iceberg....that was always a favourite of mine in the early days.....does it have a lovely strong perfume?

It was one of three I think you sent me Karen, a very long time ago, it might be Iceberg, it has a pink tinge to it and not strongly perfumed just nice and delicate perfume. Not sure if it is Iceberg as it is not as white as some of the pictures I have seen of Iceberg. It doesn't matter really as I love it whatever the name is. lol. :O)

Yesterday I bought 'Fighting Temaire', which I am training on an obelisk for some height next to my Acer Redwine at the end of the patio bed. It's a gorgeous peachy colour with semi double flowers open for the bees. There were three at Chelsea I want to get....no surprise two are sold out everywhere I've looked so far. I'll have to wait for bare root season in the autumn. The standards I bought earlier are all growing buds now, but my climber, Crown Princess Margareta, is very slow indeed...typical of climbers in my experience. They seem to take two years to get going. It will be worth the wait though!

Mine have got going this year, although that has been about three if not four years for them to look anything like. Generous Gardener is looking so good, think there will be a lot of flowers on that one. Another one I bought from Focus when they were selling them off before they closed, it has got going and is a bit rampant, but the growth on it is amazing, have just been out to put canes into the growth to help support it and tied the shoots in. The garden looks so sorry for itself.

Yes, Generous Gardener grows like mad! I had to remove mine at the last place, it was massive!
