I can't remember seeing this as a double last year. Maybe it didn't flower. I found this info on the Brushwood site.
Josephine is a sensational Clematis with incredible 3 stage flowers and every stage is drop dead gorgeous. Flowers open with a ring of large pink petals with striking deep plum stripes down the centers. Stage two is unique and beautiful as the smaller center petals open to form an light pink anemone still accented by the darker long petals - simply gorgeous. Finally the large petals drop as the center opens into a fully double bloom.
