Rhododendron x griffithianum 'The Honorable Jean Marie de Montague'

Rhododendron x griffithianum 'The Honorable Jean Marie de Montague' (Rhododendron x griffithianum 'The Honorable Jean Marie de Montague')

I call her Jean Marie (with affection)
Good red and one of the most sun-hardy of all elipedote rhododendrons.

It is at the sunny part of our property Odaatpat. (The property is mainly shady.) I estimate 6 hrs of sunshine when and if it comes out. Rhododendrons have shallow roots. Can you grow them in your zone?

That's lovely Khlanie, we have a Rhododendron in our garden that flowered at least 2 weeks early this year, probably due to the very mild winter we had. It was in full flower 1st week in May ... Not normally in full flower until 3rd week in May.

Thanks Alanb . I looked at my old pictures from last year and came to the conclusion that ours are on time. This is a later blooming rhodie. I have an other red one called "Taurus" which blooms in April.
