Delonix regia - Royal Poinciana

Delonix regia - Royal Poinciana (Delonix regia - Royal Poinciana)

These large Royal Poincianas are growing at the San Diego Zoo. Unfortunately, they have never bloomed since planted in 1988 due to the large street light located next to them. It causes photoperiodism which prevents them from flowering. Photo taken June 3, 2014.
