Sinningia leucotricha 'Brazilian Edelweiss'

Wow! I really like that one!

They caught my eye at a recent plant show and sale. The hairy leaves are just as fuzzy white as they look. There's also a green variety (Sinningia cardinalis) behind it to the left.

I can see why.
I grow Plectranthus argentatus which has a similar leaf.

I like these plants. They seem to grow very well here in a semi-shady spot all year (based on the ones I've seen growing in the Botanical Building).

Per the vender I got these from they go dormant during the winter. I hope this is the case because two of them have already dropped all their growth leaving just the bulbs. Hopefully they will grow out again next spring.

Yes, that's what I've read; however, the ones in the Botanical Building do not go dormant. I also read they can stay evergreen in mild climates.

Maybe it's too hot where we live for them...you Balboa Park tends to be cooler than the oven-hot area where we live. LOL!
