Homebird . . they are incredibly easy to take cuttings from. I have Salvia Cero Posti and currently have five cuttings (from last year) flowering and 6" high. Maybe your sister could take a cutting for you? Or maybe I could send you one - I do give most away!

HB - this is reckoned to be the hardiest one, and it flowers for ages and ages

I used to have this at my last house and it just sneered at hard winters!
I now have white and red forms of S.microphylla, and a cultivar called Raspberry Royale. Actually I now have about 25 species/cultivars so the words "I am becoming a Salvia fan" is a dangerous phrase! I have about the same number of species seed to start still too.

Oh, that's lovely and now I am thinking of my lovely Salvia collection that I binned before I moved because it was just so brittle and I had run out of room in the van! Once that greenhouse is up Angela....I will be re-aquainting myself with these beauties. They would love my south facing patio!

You're right DD - just another 925 or so species left to collect now!!! Then I can start on the cultivars and hybrids!!!!

And then apply for National Collection status :-)
