From one of my biggest to one of my smallest at just 3inch across.

I did try it with 'Siloam David Kirchhoff', no 'Carpathian Cavalier' open at the moment it has 4 or 5 new scapes but nowhere near flowering yet.
I read its best to cross patterns with patterns does that make even better patterns?

Hopefully. If both parents have patterns, are spiders, are double, etc,; then you increase your chances it won't revert to something less desirable. The crosses I made using Golden Tentacles (in both positions) had ruffles, but no tentacles.
