Everyone who comes says how lovely it is :O) It did look great today in the sunshine, I am so happy with it just now. Bits still to sort out in the front garden, going to chop that very large mock orange down to the ground its far too big and chop out the holly tree too, its all taking too much light away from the front borders and of course they take out all the moisture and the borders are so dry in the front even with all the rain we keep getting. More forecast for this evening, we need it. It has been so hot and humid here all day. Storms are a brewing. :O( not looking forward to the lightening, shall have to get out my dark sunglasses and hide under the table. lol :O(

I'm not surprised everyone says it's lovely, it IS! My OH says our garden is busy, but compared to yours is positively quiet. I think its fantastic!
Hope you enjoyed your sandwich. :)

What a fantastic garden,it must be a haven for wildlife. This is what gardening is all about, making it all yours and changing and improving it when it is necessary, well done!kerryvw

Thank you Kerryvw - its so nice when others like my efforts, yes wildlife in abundance well, butterflies, bees, hoverflies etc. and at this time of year lots of dragonflies of various colours. We have had lots of birds nesting too this year, had to wait to chop down a very bushy holly tree, until the baby wrens had fledged. lol. :O) all done now and tidied up, must keep on top of it now as it was very hard work getting it down. The birds liked it though because they could hide from the sparrowhawk in there. I loathed chopping it back but it had to be done it was taking so much light away from the front of the house borders. Thank you for looking in :O)

we have a sparrowhawk as well Oliveoil. It flies under our carport and over into the garden, and sometimes it will sit on our fence.

I know they are only killing for food but wish they would leave the little birds and eat the pidgeons lol, although after saying that I have found dead pidgeons so I can only assume they are killing those also. When it flies close to the house the cockatiel in the little aviary screeches out a warning to let you know it is there. lol. I always know when it is nearby. lol.

Peregrines can kill pigeons Oliveoil. We get peregrines around here too.

WOW ! ...... Absolutely STUNNING! Reminds me of beautiful Mediterranean gardens. I can see why you use this photo as your Icon. The attention to detail is exceptional. Do you clip the edge of the grass (round the stepping stones) with nail clippers ? ... lol.

I have nominated this photo for GoYpedia, I am really surprised that it isn't in there already. 'Back Garden Ideas' seemed the most appropriate category.

Alan I try to chop the grass around the slabs once a year I have a little sharp edging knife which does the job or if my back is aching (which it often is) lol I use the half moon border edger which is fine providing I can find the edge of the slabs. lol. Thank you Alab for looking in so pleased you like my garden, its always lovely when others appreciate the hard work that goes into maintaining it. :O)
