BAT 2

BAT 2

The 'Bat people' came & fetched it. Haven't heard yet whether it has survived! They said they would bring it back to release it in it's own territory if it recovered.

BJS@How did you notice, Brian. Well, definitely not my favourite pet, although some people are on the top of my hostility list, not bats, lol.
Shirwirl@Slovakia has large-scale vaccination program in wildlife and it is obligatory for all of pets for decades. Since 2006 we didn t have any positive case in th Sk.

It is among low risk countries:

The UK is there listed as no risk country, however we all know you have problems with rabies in bats and even in 2002 (I think) somebody died in Scotland...

Have never heard that Katerina, but it is not such a big problem here as in some places.

Just to your information, do not touch them, please.

Too late - I did Katarina!!!
The cat brought it in & left it on my floor so I had to rescue it & put it somewhere for the 'Bat rescue people' to come & collect it.
I did wash thoroughly afterwards I might add!

A job well done there Shirl. Paranoia solves nothing, all that's needed is good old commonsense, as you've proved. :)

Thank you Waddy, nice to know I did the right thing!
I still haven't heard though whether it survived, I really must try & find out.

I agree,Shirl..I would have done the same..My M.in law,had Pipistrelles in her loft space, and they had to wait till they had gone, before the holes could be filled in,As you already know, they are a protected species..I hope it survived..:o)

I think this bat must have died.
I only heard from them once that they were having to treat it for a hole in the wing & an injury somewhere - I forget just where! I dare say where the cat caught it.

Anyway I have heard nothing since so I am guessing that it died.
