Sorry for the question, Fran would probably kill me, but what is its Latin name, please?
25 Jul, 2014
Filipendula
according to wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Filipendula)
Meadowsweet (Filipendula ulmaria)
Dropwort (Filipendula vulgaris)
Queen-of-the-forest (Filipendula occidentalis)
Queen-of-the-prairie (Filipendula rubra)
however this species is Filipendula purpurea I beieve. On a previous shot i had the name
Filipendula purpurea/Spiraea x bumalda 'Anthony Waterer' so I assume thats what was on the label

Is this sort of Spiraea x bumalda? Doesn t look like. I had several sorts in the garden, but this looks more like Astilbe flower.

Thanks Katarina for asking, you saved me from doing it.....I am only good with the latin names too....
Filipendula has flowers very similar to the Astilbe, feathery, but the plant is much taller altogether, a really beautiful addition to the garden, I believe there are white forms as well.

I see, I did´t know that. Thank you for information, Dotty. Now I have to find, where they sell it. I really like it.
