I'm so thrilled with them, M. Now if I could get the martagon lilies going I'd feel like I made progress. Should be more positive shouldn't I? going to look for tiger lilies as well as bring more of the lemon lilies into this bed. The daylilies and irises love it...used to be an old tip and the soil is black as can be. Local farmer friend is going to give me some cow stuff...will compost it first and make some manure tea for the flowers. I have a veg garden this year...eating lots of great fresh salads!

will post a pic. It's saponaria...some folk call it laundry herb. it smells wonderful. not the most colourful statement..but deliciously sweet smelling. That's why I'm letting it have free rein in the bed under my window.
