Seed Pod on the Aloe cristata

Mine has never had a seed pod ... congratulations :) lol

Thank you Hywel. I did not do anything to encourage it so it has to be beginners luck. It looks as if it is going to produce some more flowers at the top of the stem. I'll let you know of any exciting developments.

It looks as if there may be a lot of seeds in the pod. I will sow some and I can send you some if there are any. I think you might have a better success rating than me. It may take a while for the seed pod to pop. I will keep an eye on it and cover it with a bag if it looks as if it might pop. I imagine the seeds may be small. I'll need to google it and find out.

Maybe so. I'm going to try the seeds too, and see if any germinate.

Good luck with them and do keep us informed. This has been the strangest summer. I left an Amaryllis out after it finished flowering in 2013 and forgot to bring it in again in the autumn. It has been out all winter and is now in flower. Amazing.
