Bulbine frutescens 'Hallmark'

I have an area in the front of my yard that has sandy and poor soil, not good for much except weeds. So I am trying some ice plant type ground cover - this Bulbine. The flower is on a tall stalk and is 1.5 cm across. The flowers close at night, but do last several days.

No one else around here has anything like it. My neighbour who used to live across the street from me started a cerise coloured delosprema, and now it is everwhere. It looks great for 1 week and is ugly for the next 51. This is supposed to bloom at least twice a year.
