Veratrum nigrum at Osbourne house, Isle of Wight

Now that's a bit special Siris, I had to google it as I'd never heard of it, being a lover of perennials I've already searched out the seed, knew Plantworld would have them ;-), they're in my basket lol.
Can't believe this isn't seen more often as according to RHS its hardy ?, and those starry flowers close up are lovely :-)

I had some plants of this Veratrum years ago but lost it, because the ground was too dry. Trying to think where I bought it, maybe Spinners in the New Forest or Hardys. Think it will take a while to reach flowering size. Ref the flower colour and form, it looks like the drying flower spikes of Astilbe Fanal, only much bigger. Also saw it at Bressingham earlier this year. Good luck.
