Final flower on this scape, but look at how the sepals are rippled and the petals twist.

Today I started the selection process on my seedlings. I made 25 markers, so I hope that goes well. One is reserved for this one. You know I have a weakness for large green throats.

Who thinks up the names for all these crosses?

For registered daylilies, it is up to the hybridizer, but there are rules on what names can be used. For these crosses that aren't, it is pod parent x pollen parent. Trouble is, it becomes so huge by the third generation that "seedling" is used.

Thanks -- it is late in the season, but worth the wait.

You can never be certain - but I have tried several crosses with this. I used Crystal Blue Persuasion and Wee Wizard, hoping an eye will form above a deep green throat.
