Self seeded Verbena bonariensis with a white flowered Scabious. Both have tall airy foliage.

I assume it is a short lived perennial. It surprised me too as I only have blue Scabious. The leaves look like S caucasica or ochroleuca but the flower structure like the latter. Have 3 or 4 plants, will save seed as it's really pretty.

It is very pretty I have the dark red macedonica and another the same but pale pink, seed sent to me in a swap years ago, very useful for filling gaps,Caucasica's my favourite though such big flowers.

Has red macedonica been put in the Knautia genus now or the other way round, but I know which one you mean. My RHS encyclopedia if from 1990! Yes Caucasica has the frilly petals around the central boss which doubles its size.

Oh I don't know Siris I swapped the seed as Knautia Macedonica, I wish they wouldn't change names I can never remember the new ones, most dicentra are still dicentra but the climbing ones Dactylicapnos!!! why?
