A variegated perennial mondo grass, with white flowers (finished in this location), happy in sun or shade. With a variegated Ajuga, Cyclamen and a Saxifrage Nachi Mount.

They haven't changed the name of Liriope I hope. Not heard of Astelia before, but if it's a grass or sedge that would account for it.

Lol you never know.
Suppose they are a bit grass like remind me of a phormium a bit, not hardy, I had a lovely silver leaf one 'Silver Spear' for several years until those awful winters that finished off so many plants even in the greenhouse.
Don't you like grasses then Siris ;-)

Yes I do, in the right place, couldn't do with Stipa g much too big, but have some smaller Carex and a something something Schnee..... Would have to look it's name up, these seeds well so I just pull the old ones out! And the variegated gardener's gaiters in a really difficult location, for plants that is.
Ps Little Tabby's flowers are not as good/prominent as the blue Liriope, and I,ve never seen seed, but it produces well behaved runners, good for an edging!

After gene identification in the USA, I believe Liriope and Ophiopogon have been placed in the Asparagus family.
