Not sure the variety of this plumeria tree. All I know is that is was tall, large and old. There's several others on the property of this Church on Coronado Island, CA. Photo taken Aug. 31, 2014.

Plumerias absolutely love Coronado Island. The warm mild climate is incredible!
It was unbelievably hot and humid in Coronado this day.
Coronado has never recorded a freezing temp. It's true temps very rarely go below the 50's during the middle of January. Very tender tropical trees and plants find a very good home there.

Talk about a garden that never gets cold. I imagine lows stay in the 50's in winter on the island. Surprising though that an island off of California gets enough warmth to get Plumeria to grow and flower just fine.
