From seed that Amy sent me.
The seed was sown early this year and they're blooming already!

Strange - I planted one out in 2012 and the extreme cold and wet killed it!!!!!!!!

I know it doesn't like extreme cold; however, it likes a lot of water.
My plant was in the ground for at least 8 years. It was only 5' (1.5m) tall. It never really liked its spot. I had Abuliton hybridum which would grow to 10' (3.1m) tall within one year (this was in the San Francisco Bay Area).

Never grow that fast for me.

The ones I had in the SF Bay Area were rampant growers. They were so fast I could barely keep up with the pruning.
Here in San Diego it's too hot and dry. Also, the soil is not as fertile as the Bay Area.

It looks great! My large plant just died...the extreme drought and heat has done it in.
