Red on red.

Red on red.

At least this time of year brings beauty as well as tatty sweet peas to pull out!

Lovely. I feel I should recognise the beautiful red-leaved shrub(?) but can't think what it is.

It's a Parthenocissus, not a shrub! It's massive and covers the whole of the garage roof, and falls gracefully through the Pyracantha. It's a sight to behold at this time of year. :-))

Can't remember which P. it is...it'll be in my plant list!

Many thanks Barbara . . . of course it's Parthenocissus!! We had it growing over the fence opposite our side door - loved it - but OH found it to be too vigorous and so he hacked it down. It's trying to come back though, so I'm hoping he'll agree to allow it :)

Mine could do with a prune, really - it is a giant of a plant, and I looked it up - it's P. quinquefolia. :-)

Vigorous indeed! Definitely!!

Thank you . . . it is gorgeous though!

It never ceases to be a pleasure when it all turns scarlet, Dd. Shame it's only for a short while.

I agree.....

We were away at our Granddaughter's wedding over the weekend, and came back to find falling scarlet leaves. :-9
