Iris foetidissama 'Variegata'

Have you seen it flowering, and colour? The foliage looks a little like a variegated Liriope, small whitish flowers.

Flowers look rather shabby, disappointing and unnoticeable. The dominant colour is dirty purple (look like light brown too) plus a bit of yellow in the middle and the size is small-ish, therefore I don't often notice the fact that they are flowering. Flower stalks won't get taller than the leaves and the flowers are somewhat hidden in the foliage; that's another reason I miss seeing the flowers.

I googled inputting "variegated leaf iris" some minutes ago but non of the images had the dirty-looking flowers. I think I'm going to forget about the ID. Thank you once again Siris for your comment!

Have a look at my Liriope Little Tabby, pictured 28 August, 3 pages back at present, I really think it's that, flowers are nondescript, or googe it. Best of luck.

I looked at your Liriope. I've got Liriope although mine is not variegated. Mine above is definitely iris. That's for sure.

This is niggling me, The species Iris gracilipes has grass like foliage and Evansias was introduced to France, but I can't find any reference to variegated foliage and the flowers are too showy. I give in!!!!

Oh so sorry to have bothered you.. I know Iris gracilipes and mine above is definitely not evansias. I took a photo of the ugly (!) flower this summer but I deleted it because I thought it was not pretty and not worth keeping the picture. I'm going to take one next year and show it to you!

It was when you said insignificant dirty coloured flowers I thought of my plain green one and wondered if there was a variegated form googled and there it was!!!so I've learnt something too:-) must say yours is prettier :-)
