For Fran

For Fran

Fran, this is the bush you have in a much younger age, so it is now as high as me, and I trim it into this deformed globe. I will make picture of it in December too, in order to show you, how beautiful branches it has - like flames.

even when it was badly in need to cutting back, it wasn't that tall, so it must stilll ba a youngster, or at least a teen. wish I know when these shrubs had been planted!

This is Cornus sanguinea Winterflame. There is also sort of Spirea Goldflame, which looks slightly similar and it doesn t reach that height, maybe you have it. I also have that one and prune it in a globe shape, stillit is a 50 cm shrub with nice leaves and then branches in the winter, although not as tall, as the first one.

I have Gold Flame, so it might not grow as tall as yours, but it might grow bigger over time

Yes, it grows much wider. Mine Spirea Goldflame has 130 cm in diameter.
