I just love the red of the sumach(Rhus) , Sandra. it's such a lovely thing but it will stage a coup if you turn your back! I just keep mowing down the expanding shoots with the lawn mower. Every autumn the clumps that form on the verges of the highway turn a zingy red. Mine is a bit orange but the euonymus below it is nice and red.

it is beautiful even if it does have bad habbits..mine is popping up along a path. worth it though..:-)
