I've grown this a couple of times, but lost it in bad winters. There is also a rare white-flowered version.

Oh dear, Andrew - I hope it survives. I have it against 'the Great Wall' facing south, so that should help.

The flowers are much smaller than Lupins, Pp. ;-)

Spritz - I tracked down another plant of this last year and planted it in June 2015. It has done incredibly well this year, so I hope it will settle down for me now.
My experience is it needs full sun, and although it benefits from a hard pruning in the spring, don't do it too soon - err on the side of later if in doubt.
