It is growing in a long tom,The corm was baked but sufficient depth to keep the long roots damp part bedded in damp sand in fact there is quite a considerable amount root out of the bottom of the pot taking up moisture.
Has your colchicum flowered yet ,I am still waiting for several other large forms to even put in an appearance.

Not yet.I've gently pulled the soil back and there's a nice plump bud so is still ok.
How deep is the long tom.
