thanks Sanda...natural, yes. and pretty rough at the moment. this won't be finished until next spring, alas. Standing in cold water might improve the circulation...or perhaps it's the opposite...well anyway, ;-) I need more rocks and a pair of hip waders!

Thing is, you have to know where the eddies will be the strongest before you can place rocks to best effect - which means taking notes while the stream's in flood - although the condition of the banks would be a very good clue!

don't try too much at once, especially heavy-strenusous; chipping away at it a bit at a time will still get it done eventually.
