Thanks Sheila, HB have bought several new ones this year, cannot decide whether to plant them now or wait until the spring? we have such wet winters here....

Who or what is HB??! My Anemone 'wild swan' has made a seedling, and I've planted it out with fingers crossed (tricky that :)) I would love to find more varieties for next year as they seem to be quite long-flowering . . .

Sheila HB is Homebird lol!! Wild Swan is a beauty..,.I am most wary about planting any small plants during winter, having lost so many in the past.... so I tend to wait until early spring, and by then they have developed a good root system, but that is just how we go about it!!

You are right Angela (and thanks for putting me straight)! Def best to wait until there is plenty of root . .

Oh - pleased to meet you Sheila/HB! I was only thinking this morning that there used to be a 'sheilar' on this site, but haven't seen her for a while . . . I suspect it's an 'over 50s' name . . . what do you think?!

Yes we do. My mother was going to christen her second daughter (me) Penelope, but she had the radio on, and heard about women folding parachutes for the airmen in the second World war: one of them included a note in the wrapping saying "Happy Landings, love Sheila" which appealed to her, so that is what she called me! (There you are, Homebird, I'm almost certainly NOT younger than you, lol.)

I had a schoolfriend called Sheila a couple of years younger than me. I will be eighty in a year bar a few days. My first name 'Mavis' is seldom used now. So is my second name. My mother was Nora not used now either. My grans were Emma and Mary, a bit more likely to be used these days. OH's mum and aunts were Violet, Ivy, Ethel, Minnie, Nan, Grace, Ada. Possibly only Grace might be used now. Funny how names come and go but some stick around.

Interesting Dorjac . . . slightly to our surprise, our granddaughters have been called Chiara GRACE, and Francesca IVY!! No idea where those ideas came from.
