What sort of maple is it? And do you use acid soil for them, if they are in the pot?

Katarina
Sorry don't know the name or even if it has one,Yes I always use ericaceous/Acid compost for them in containers
For ones in the ground the soil here is neutral to acid over blue clay which I find very difficult for most Roses and Clematis ,so not many of them in the garden.

Amy yes I love it and a self sown seedling that showed up in the garden, fairly sure I know the two parents about halfway between the two size wise but colour totally different. There are two more younger ones same parentage both growing in my troughs close by I shall have to try and remove next year.

Do you remember, Brian, what sort of winter rose (Hellebore) did you sent to me three years ago? To be honest, I didn t preserve labels, as Noris picked them off the soil and hided only he knows where. For two years the plants were almost invisible and I thought they were lost. Since this summer two of them started to grow and develop larger leaves and it seems, this summer they will bloom!
