That's a killer look. Perfect spot too. When they start kicking out P.obusa's in colors like P.rubra?,the rubra's will go extinct!

Thanks, I do prefer the shiny rounded leaves on these, to me they almost look plastic. This is also pretty much evergreen here unlike the rubra's.

It looks terrific! The cuttings you gave me from this plumeria never took. It's amazing this plumeria didn't burn in the heat waves this year.

I think it was liking that heat.

I don't understand it...you're only a few houses down the street and my plumerias burn to death during the heat waves and your plumerias look terrific! That's not fair! LOL!

I notice mine in the cooler weather had black spotted on the leaves...so,I moved it to a more winter sunny spot. P.rubra looks fine as is. I had them both together.
So,now I debate as to bring it in when real winter descends in December.

Stan510:

Yes, P. obtusa 'Singapore' is tropical. In the Bay Area the leaves will get spotted in cool weather. It's especially susceptible to black fungus on the tips in cool weather, also. I had that happen to my plant one winter here in San Diego. If it's in too much shade it's much more prone to the black fungus.

I have another obusa in a pot (the large white flower variety), it does get a black fungus the effects the growth tips in the spring. This pink one hasn't had the same problem.

That's strange. My 17 year old P. obtusa (which died in a heat wave a couple of year ago) only had the black fungus one year in all those years.

That's good to know the dwarf pink doesn't get the black fungus.
