Does it fruit, and if so do you eat them? I have seen the fruits in the markets in F.

Yes!
I did eat one last month and I gave the rest to my friend and she made jelly (I think: I haven't asked her what she made with them!).
This is my photo of the fruits called "Le figuier de Barbarie" in French (↓):

How would you describe the taste? I tasted some Passion Fruit and banana jam at the Shaftesbury Agricultural show recently, delicious. Presumably from Passiflora edulis, the edible passionflower. I grow Passiflora caerulea which can be eaten, but it had an insipid texture like frog's spawn!

Tommymoo I see you like grasses do you have Melica Ciliata (hairy melic grass) I've just been collecting seed and thought of you, its very easy from seed and fast growing, I got the seed for mine from the RHS a couple of years ago.

Siris,
I love Passion Fruits. I used to eat them fresh when I lived in Palau (a country in the western Pacific Ocean) more than 10 years ago. So you know how frog's spawn tastes like?! - Just winding you up lol lol lol :-) The taste of "Le figuier de Barbarie" is somewhere between melon and cucumber!!! Not really my taste but GoY member Bathgate in NY said: Those fruits are really delicious, especially when juiced.
Simbad,
Yes yes yes! I love grasses and haven't got the one you mentioned. I looked at your photo and it's very very nice with pretty ears. It'd be fantastic if you could spare me some :-) Thanks a lot!!!!!!
