White Sapote 'Suebelle'

My 30+ year old tree I got from Los Angeles that long ago. It flower,fruits and bears all year. Sounds impossible..but all three phases can be seen closeup. I can get a ripe fruit any time of year. A custard flavor and texture. DELICIOUS! Its regularly sheared and pruned to fit in the small yard.
With Dioon edule (1978) and Cycas circinalis. Circa 1995. Aloe marlothii...2000?

No..its extremely perishable. Some in soucal with big tree's can muster enough to sell same day at Farmers Markets. But as for Supermarkets,its not really feasible.
Funny thing is Dri,Suebelle is a SUB tropical fruit..it cant take high heat and humidity. Its from the mountains of Mexico and central America.
ALTHOUGH!..lol..some cultivars are adapted to low tropics. Mine has fuzzy leaf undersides..the tropical types are smooth leafed.

It looks great! It's amazing you've been able to keep it so small. This tree becomes gigantic.
My neighbor has two trees which they keep about this same size, also. It's because of the copious amounts of fruits it produces.
Have you seen the gigantic, old white sapote tree at The Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum in San Jose, CA?

No,I haven't seen that-yet! Suebelle is actually considered a dwarf Sapote. But after 30 years..it still gets too big for my needs. I even pruned off large lower branches..I got tired of hitting my head while looking up for fruits. I saw stars a couple of times-ouch!

The fruit on one small sapote tree can feed about 10 families. LOL!
If you get a chance see the large tree at The Rosicrucian Museum. It's such an large, impressive tree. I only have stills of that tree. I haven't taken any photos with my digital camera.

That tree,the Howea..I do MUCH pruning-no exaggeration- to get around my yards!
