First 2 flowers on Clematis balearica "Freckles"

There is on the market, one with white/cream flowers, but I prefer this one.

Was it easy from seed SIris I've only ever tried tanguticas which as you know are dead easy,my neighbour has this so could beg seeds :-)

Yes Simbad, all my Clematis from seed I never treat kindly, they don't seem to like being pampered. I leave them outdoors to cold stratify. My Freckles seeds itself where it wants, then if I want it I dig it up.

I found a couple of montana seedlings in my drive, never had that one seed before, among the block paving, one's growing like a triffid round my pond fencing and the others in our youngest daughters garden :-)
